eminec keeps on sending me viruses via e-mail... really?

eminec does not send viruses. All systems at eminec are equipped with the latest virus protection.
Unfortunately, the sender of an e-mail message can be easily forged, comparable to a real-world letter: the real sender can write any name onto the envelope. New viruses exploit this fact. They search an infected system for e-mail addresses (e. g. in the address book and in cached web pages) and then send messages with a randomly-selected sender name to a randomly selected recipient.
If a computer is infected and it contains (legitimate, authentic, clean) e-mail messages from eminec, the virus may set the sender name to "eminec", and the recipient will get an infected message that claims to -- but in fact does not -- come from eminec.
eminec cannot change this, as the infected messages are not sent by eminec and the e-mail protocol on the Internet makes it easy to use forged sender names.
eminec uses PDF (Portable Document Format) and PLF (Program License File) files as e-mail attachments only. You should be careful if you receive an unrequested message.
Install anti-virus software to receive virus warnings before it is too late.
