My maps are printed too small. How do I print larger?

When printing eminec MYmap documents, you may choose between two options: normal printing ("fit to page automatically") and large printing ("poster printing").
When working in normal printing mode, eminec MYmap will usually be used with a printing area of 29.7 cm width x 21 cm height (a page of A4 paper in landscape orientation) or a "letter" sheet of slightly different size. Margins have to be substacted, usually 2.5 cm on each side. This results in an effective printing area of 24.7 cm width x 16 cm height. (You can change this by entering the desired margin values into the "Print" window. Please note that every printer has some minimum margin where printing is not possible.)
When printing a map, eminec MYmap will automatically detect the leftmost object (branch, sub-branch, image). MYmap will also find the rightmost element. The distance between these two elements is called the original width of your map. MYmap will now calculate the enlargement or reduction factor for your map by changing the map size for printing so that the original width of your map is mapped to the sheet width (24.7 cm). This means that every map will be printed 24.7 cm wide (if you have not changed margin settings).
You can try this on your own: create a new map, and do not add any elements (only the map center is contained in your map then). Select the menu "File > Print" and have a look at the preview. The center has been enlarged massively, because the original width is equivalent to the center, and this is being enlarged to the sheet width.
Click "Cancel". Add a branch and position it very close to the right of the center. Choose "File > Print" again and see the preview. The map center has now been moved the the left half of the sheet, and the enlargement factor has been decreased.
In the last step, leave preview, and move the right branch to the extreme right (scroll your map to do so). Open preview, and you will be able to see that the map width has again been fit to the page; this requires a massive reduction in size this time, just enough to ensure that both branches are still visible.
As you can see, the original width of the map is crucial. The smaller the original size, the bigger your printout will be. (It could not work any differently: if MYmap printed larger, the end of the sheet would have been reached when there is still some piece of map left!)
Therefore, to get a larger printout, there are two possibilities:
Ensure the original width is as small as possible. This leads to a larger zoom value.
Use "poster printing" mode instead of "fit to page automatically". In this case, you can set the zoom value by changing the corresponding field in the "Print" window. This may require cropping and pasting multiple sheets of paper.
